‘I have to speak for people who are afraid’

Ai Weiwei is a Chinese artist; Weiwei creates his work from photography to architecture. He and his work have been a big controversy, by his works that tries to make public different political corruption. Ai Weiwei is a good example of persevering. He has been to jail and the government on January 11 2011 demolished his studio in shangai.

There’s a lot to say about Weiwei, but better to hear from him and see his work:

Ai Weiwei was the artistic consultant for the construction of the National Stadium at Beijing.


Tate Exhibition

Tate is a public institution that houses the United Kingdom collection of British Art but it also has an International and Contemporary Art collection.
Tate is divided in for parts:
Tate Britain: National House of British Art.
Tate St Ives: Presents modern and contemporary art, almost always created in or associated with Cornwall. Cornwall is the location of the Tate St Ives in Britain.
Tate Liverpool: Conforms displays of work from the Tate Collection, as well as special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art of public and private collections.
Tate Modern: National Gallery of international modern art.

Tate Online is the oficial web page of the Tate. It is really interesting and Rich in content. It keeps a quick update in different shows and expositions happening in its organisation.

I recommend going to the Tate Channel, which is in the Tate Online. In this channel you can find a big video library with especific videos such as Talks and symposia, Work in Focus, Exhi bitions, Artist interviews, Performance, Films by artists among others. Really simple to surf around.
